  When the great Bay Area rock promoter, showman and impresario died in a helicopter crash on October 25, 1991, the whole San Francisco Bay Area was saddened. Bill Graham's company quickly put together a memorial concert at the Polo Field in Golden Gate Park the following Saturday afternoon. Some of the performers who came out and paid tribute to Bill were the Grateful Dead, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Journey, Santana, John Fogerty, Los Lobos among many other.
